Modern Love Review | Omaha, NE

Good evening everyone! I hope everyone had a great week. We celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary and I wanted to do something a little different. If you didn’t know I have been vegan for almost three weeks. So far it is going very well and I am pretty proud of myself. I decided to try this vegan restaurant that I came across on google called Modern Love, located in Omaha Nebraska. It was a huge hit, its probably a good thing that I don’t live in Omaha or I would go there every single day.

APPETIZER

First up on the menu was our appetizer. We decided to go with the fried mozzarella. The description was herb crusted cashew cheese, marinara, and basil. I DON’T KNOW HOW THEY DID THIS WITH CASHEWS. We were blown away, it tasted so much like cheese. I give this appetizer a 35 out of 10. It was so freaking good. I highly recommend you try this dish if you ever get the chance to go there. Oh and let me tell you that my husband is not vegan nor vegetarian and he loved it. FIVE FIVE FIVE STARS!

MAIN COURSE

Where do I even start with this dish? So for the main course I decided to get the chimichanga. Description for this meal is a chimichanga stuffed with seitan carnitas and refried beans. Along with roasted jalapeño salsa verde, spicy tomato rice, and guacamole. Literally better than any chimichanga I have ever had in my life. The inside tasted like pork, the sauce was delicious, and the guac on the side was extremely refreshing. I dont know how they made the rice but the flavor was outstanding. If you love tomatoes (like myself) then you would adore this rice. Once again FIVE FIVE FIVE STARS!

DESSERT

Last but not least we have dessert. We chose the snickers pie. Description for this gem is a graham cracker crust, roasted peanuts, caramel, custard, chocolate ganache, sea salt, and coconut whip. This was very good. My favorite part was the crust because it tasted just like a snicker (no pun intended) doodle cookie. It was quite rich and I didn’t care for the coconut whip cream but it was still very good. I always ask myself, would I eat it again? The answer is yes yes yes I would. I think next time I would kindly ask for no whip 🙂

Overall I give my experience at Modern Love five out five stars. The food was top notch and the staff was even better. They were friendly and very helpful. I will most definitely be going back there and I recommend you try it out if your ever in the Omaha area. Thank you so much for reading tonight. I hope everyone has a great week!
