Hello everyone. I feel so awful it has been almost two months since I wrote a blog. I realized that I really need to get back into some sort of a routine. I have decided that I am going to blog every Sunday unless I have something come up. So be on the lookout!
I figured I should probably give you a life update since in has been a while. I am not for sure if I wrote this in my last post but I was actually admitted into a program at the hospital for depression for about 10 days. I learned so much about myself and it was so nice to be around people who were going through the same thing as I was. While I was there doctors were monitoring my medication, vital signs, and blood work. The first time I got my blood work done my blood sugars were higher than normal.
After the program I made an appointment with my primary care doctor to have my blood drawn again. My blood sugar was still elevated and she told me that I was pre-diabetic. Good news is, is that she thinks we can reverse it with diet and exercise. For the month of September I followed a low carb diet and lost 12 pounds . When I went back to see her she was ecstatic, which made me feel very proud.
That’s where I am today. My husband and I walk 2-4 miles per day and are eating very little high carb foods. It has helped me tremendously and I cant wait to see where it will take me. I go back to the doctor in two months and I hoping I can lose 30 more pounds by then.
This has also helped with my depression a ton. If I put on a pair of pants and notice how baggy they are on me, it makes me feel like I am headed in the right direction and I can’t help but be extremely positive that day. I am so proud of myself that I am finally taking care of myself and getting this under control before it becomes a bigger problem.
